Female Airsofters - 24 Hour Milsim Essentials

So since going to my first ever 24 hour MilSim last year I have been thinking of making a post about what I would consider essentials for women to take with them. The reason for this post is purely because I had no idea what to pack or even what to expect at a 24 hour MilSim and I couldn’t for the life of me find anything on the internet to help me. There is no denying that MilSim style ops are different for women because we have different needs to men and this is reflected in the differences in kit that we take. Therefore I hope this sheds a bit of light on what I would consider necessary items for a MilSim but, of course, this is only my opinion and these may differ from person to person.

Baby wipes

Baby wipes are my holy grail product when packing for a MilSim. They are a great all-round item that can be used to remove make up, as hygiene wipes and also to give your body a quick wipe down during an Op. When there are no showers or not time for a shower, I still want to feel fresh and not smell sweaty and nasty so these do a really good and quick job and make you feel fresh and clean again. Not only can they be used for the body but they can also be used to clean your gear and boots.

Dry Shampoo

My next must have item is dry shampoo! There are loads of different brands of dry shampoo out there and they all have a wide range of products for different hair colours, different looks and a huge range of fragrances to choose from. As I now have shorter hair I tend to only use a small amount of dry shampoo just to make my hair look fresh. If you are one of those ladies that wears a helmet this is a must for you due to sweating a little bit more. However, even if a helmet is not involved, sweat, wind and rain can also make your hair look greasy and dry shampoo really keeps your hair in check after just a few spritz.

Lip balm

I carry lip balm with me wherever I go. I don’t tend to get dry or chapped lips but when I do they can get quite bad. Lip balm is good for the prolonged cold and wind exposure at MilSim events. Vaseline is also a good item to have if you prefer that to lip balm as it can be used for dry or chapped skin on your hands also, which I do tend to struggle with.

Simple Kind to Skin moisturiser

I struggle with dry skin and I use this moisturiser within my daily skin care routine. I love this moisturiser because it is light (although a rich version of this moisturiser is available) and absorbs into the skin quickly. It keeps your skin hydrated for up to 12 hours but I always find a top up throughout the day helps to keep my skin feeling moisturised. I don’t find this moisturiser greasy at all which is a bonus for people with blemish prone skin. It is also a really good moisturiser for sensitive skin so really it is a good all-rounder.

Deodorant

Next up in deodorant! When packing for a MilSim I prefer to pack a roll on rather than a spray. One of my favourite deodorant is the NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Deodorant Roll-on. I love this deodorant for use at MilSims. It’s fragrant and lasts for up to 24 hours, and the roll on rather than the spray means I’m not choking my team mates with the smell of deodorant.

Shewee

Yes you read that right a Shewee. I personally don’t own one of these but it might be a purchase in the future if I attend more MilSims. I have heard a lot of great things about this product and they are perfect for when there are no portaloos (or if the poortaloos are that bad you can’t bring yourself to use them). It’s a lot easier for men when nature calls and so this could make it a lot easier for women to go to the loo.

There are also lots of other items in my kit bag that are pretty self explanatory and basic such as hand sanitiser and a hairbrush etc .

If you have any tips and essential products, leave them in the comments below! I’d love to hear what everyone else packs for MilSims.
